    Drylining

A fast, clean way to flat, paint-ready walls

Drylining is the process of fixing plasterboard to walls or ceilings to create a flat, dry surface ready for skimming and decorating. It is a popular choice for extensions, conversions and refurbishments across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and Batley — particularly where uneven masonry needs bringing to a plumb, flat finish without wet plastering the whole wall.

We fix board to timber and metal stud partitions and bond it directly to sound masonry using dot and dab, then skim the surface to a smooth, paint-ready finish. With 25 Years’ experience, TGW Plastering Contractors carries out drylining for both domestic and commercial projects to a clean, reliable standard.

    Drylining or wet plastering?

The right route depends on the surface, not the room size. New timber or metal stud partitions, extensions and rooms needing a quick, flat finish all suit drylining — and dot and dab is an efficient way to bring uneven masonry to a plumb surface without wet plastering the whole wall.

Where the masonry is sound and in good condition, a wet plaster coat can also give a seamless, hard-wearing finish. We assess the wall and advise which route best suits the surface and your project before quoting.
